Days 21-22, Cleaning my messy closet!

My Husband's Closet

TACKLING MY CLOSET!

Something just isn't right!  This week, I've gotten frustrated easily.   The smallest of things seem to be getting on my nerves and I couldn't quite figure out why...until I realized that I was deliberately avoiding my closet!  Why?  Too much STUFF!  I have been having the toughest time figuring out what to wear and I think it's largely related to the fact that I couldn't find anything in there!  It doesn't help that when I enter the closet, my husband's closet is meticulous! His neatly-hung shirt and slacks are a constant reminder of what my closet is lacking.

After I put laundry away, my closet always starts off in decent shape, but somewhere along the way, it gets out of control.  The truth is that if the house is disorganized, so am I...so when I went into my closet and could only fine one shoe of a pair, that was it–that was the last straw!   What came next drove my husband crazy.  My way of dealing with the chaos was to dump everything from the shelves onto the floor...and start fresh.  My thought is that I would only put back things that I really want or need.  My husband gets frustrated because he thinks that I make it worse by dumping everything on the floor before I organize the closet...As I looked at the mess I created, I was starting to think that he just might be right!

Maybe I shouldn't have dumped everything on the floor?

Determined to get it done in one day, I called a fellow-blogger friend of mine, who would be happy to take some of these things off my hands.  She writes a blog called "Pretty and Pregnant on a second hand budget" and since most of the items were maternity clothes, I thought she'd be a great fit.  I told her it was all hers, but  there was one catch.  She had to pick it all up today.  I didn't want to send my husband on yet another trip to the Goodwill and of course, if the stuff stayed in the house, it would drive both my husband and me looney!:)
All Done!
DeShong looks for treasures!

Deshong sporting a new pair of shoes!

Five hours later, I was all done.  I had taken everything out that I no longer wanted and bagged it all up.  My husband took them downstairs and like a true friend, DeShong showed up and restored my house and my brain to peace and calm.

Eight bags of goodies and XXX pairs of shoes later!

Now I'm on to the baby's room!  Anyone need summer baby girl clothes, size 3-6 months?  At this rate, the whole house will be done by next week!

Good for you. I am absolutely crazy when my house is in disarray. There is nothing better than the feeling that comes after completing a project like that. It's almost a calm equivalent to the relaxed feeling after leaving a good massage! Kudos to you for taking it on!

I can so relate to this! My closet is getting worse and worse, and I am due for a major cleaning session as well! Good for you for tackling this project and getting it done so quickly, too!

I have a friend who has a little baby girl due any day.auctually a day ago! I am sure she could put extra baby clothes in 3-6 to good use. I had all winter 3-6 it seems like. I could come pick up or bring to gym with you perhaps? katrina
