Day 20, Pushing Myself to the Limit!

Jennifer Hudson is quoted as saying that she was more proud of losing 80lbs than she was of winning an Oscar!  I initially thought the statement was ridiculous, but as I thought more about it, I get it!  I think that singing and acting both come naturally for her, so she doesn't have to work at it.   Losing weight and staying healthy, on the other hand, require hard work!

Pounds don't come off without the ability to stay focus and maintain discipline.  Losing weight takes a real commitment to eating clean and working out!  You all read about my miscarriage, "guilt" eating and subsequent weight gain on my Post from  Day Three!  As you will recall, I vowed to get "Fit With Renee!"

Today was the day!  I tossed and turned this morning in bed thinking about my looming workout.  That Renee is absolutely no joke, so I had to mentally prepare myself for her.  When I walked in, all I saw were women who were in great shape.  I was a bit intimidated at first, but quickly realized that everyone has to start somewhere!   I've got some extra pounds, but the truth is that it could be much worse.  There were seven of us working out during my hour long session–four who I believe have done competitive shows and two other relatively new moms, who seemed a bit nervous as well...

Renee did a great job with assessing where we were and pushing us to our limits today.  I used muscles I had forgotten that I had.  I drank a tall bottle of water in record time.  I felt strong at times and weak at others.  My legs hurt like crazy and it was clear to me that this girl needs a serious cardio work-out routine!  Now, I know what to expect and am looking forward to my next session.

At this rate, I am certain the results will come– and come quickly!  I shopped at Sam's Club for healthier food with a good friend, Jennifer, and think I'm off to a good start!  I'm looking forward to getting some cardio in this weekend!  Wish me luck!
