Death does come in threes. This weekend Indiana experienced a shocking tragedy. Last week, you will remember that I posted about my family's experience at the state fair. We had a wonderful time and I was excited to finally have attended after living here for six years. I'm attaching a short video about the tragedy and am now even more inspired to get my estate plan in order. I have three great reasons (my girls) to make sure this is a priority!

Indeed, I'm on a mission! Over the coming days, I plan to complete the following list. I'll post information about how to do each, as I complete each step.
1. Update beneficiaries on our insurance policies
2. Update wills and trusts (to include my nine-month old daughter)
3. Re-evaluate named guardian of our children
4. Health care directive
5. Power of attorney
6. Identify charitable giving plan
7. Outline obituary and gather needed information
8. Research funeral and burial options.
That's it for now! Hopefully, this list will help you, as well! Also, please let me know if I missed anything!

Heeeeey Ericka! Thanks for this list. You always say I over prepare. But I'm embarrassed to admit that I haven't done anything you've listed. So many of us think we're going to live forever and don't give our family members our final wishes. I'm going to get on this this week - make it a priority like I do with my blog and AGG and ATAM. Oh my, another priority! Thanks so much.
Thanks Prettypreggie! Glad I could help! Don't worry, we always get it done...
